Christianity is an Abrahamic monotheistic religion based on the life and teachings of their lord and savior Jesus Christ. Christianity was founded by Jesus of Nazareth in ancient Palestine under Roman rule in the first century CE. Christianity has about two billion adherents and is ranked first in size compared to the other religions. Christians spread their beliefs throughout many countries. For example, churches were built in major cities in Palestine, Turkey, Greece, Rome, and the whole Roman Empire by the end of the 4th century. Christianity’s sacred text is the holy bible which was written by forty prophets and messengers of God and the text reads the events that occurred through Jesus’s life and his idea of what is right or wrong in the world. The Christians sacred text the holy bible is a unified text. It has the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament is foundational: the New Testament build on that foundation with further revelation from God. The Old Testament has many prophecies that are fulfilled in the New Testament. The Old Testament focuses more on the history of a person while the New Testament focused on the person himself. In the Old Testament it states more of God’s wrath against sin, the New Testament shows more grace God gives towards sinners.
